Recently, the national autumn harvest is nearing completion. CR has prioritized safeguarding people's livelihoods, focusing on "north-to-south grain transport and port transportation," and innovating multi-modal transport solutions for grain. This includes reducing loading and unloading losses and ensuring that every grain reaches its destination. By the end of November, national railways had transported 93.28 million tons of grain this year. Since the onset of the autumn harvest in late October, railways have dispatched 17.31 million tons of grain, an increase of 1.94 million tons, or 12.6%, compared to the same period last year.

To increase transport resources, the railway sector has enhanced communication with other authorities. As the peak period for grain transportation approaches, CR has strengthened cooperation with major grain enterprises such as China Grain Reserves Group and China Oil and Foodstuffs Corporation, as well as key grain transport ports including Dalian Port, Rizhao Port, Guangzhou Port and Beibu Gulf. By proactively gathering information on domestic grain shipments to ports and the port distribution needs of imported grain, railways have ensured timely dispatch of empty trains and containers to ports. Based on grain sales and vessel arrival schedules, railways have also allocated transport capacity in advance, organizing direct grain trains between coastal ports and inland areas, and enriching the rail-water intermodal grain transport products.
